The ideal gap is 20–30mm, with equal tension on both tracks. Adjust tighter for hard, flat surfaces and looser for soft or clay-rich terrain.
2. Replace Worn Sprocket Segments Promptly
When sprocket teeth wear beyond the allowable limit, replace the entire set to avoid uneven stress and premature failure.
3. Operate Smoothly to Minimize Impact
Avoid aggressive maneuvers like sudden acceleration, sharp turns (especially at high speed), or abrupt reversals. Rough terrain demands gentle handling to prevent track derailment or damage.
4. Address Abnormalities Immediately
If tracks jump, tighten abnormally, or produce unusual noises, shut down the machine immediately and inspect for obstructions or misalignments.
5. Avoid Overloading on Uneven Ground
Operating under heavy loads on sloped or uneven surfaces forces tracks to spin in place, accelerating wear on drive components.
6. Cross Railroad Tracks Safely
Always cross rail lines perpendicularly. Never shift gears, stop, or reverse on tracks to prevent catastrophic accidents.
7. Post-Operation Cleaning and Inspection
After work, remove debris like mud, weeds, or wires from tracks. Check for loose pins, cracked chain links, or damaged plates. Perform repairs or replacements as needed.
