How to properly maintain diesel forklifts in summer

Date: Jul 06, 2024 Views:

1. Engine heat dissipation: High temperatures in summer may cause the engine to overheat. You should regularly check whether the radiator is clean and ensure that the cooling system is working

properly.

2. Water tank maintenance: In order to prevent the water tank from "boiling", the water tank should be cleaned in time and consider adding antifreeze to increase the boiling point.

3. Lubricating grease: As the temperature rises, the lubricating grease may become thinner and the lubrication performance decreases. The lubricating grease of the entire vehicle should be checked

and replaced regularly to ensure that the mechanical parts are well lubricated.

4. Tire inspection: High temperatures in summer may affect tire pressure. Tire pressure should be checked regularly to ensure it meets regulations and tire wear should be checked.

5. Electrical system inspection: High temperatures may accelerate the aging of electrical components. The forklift's electrical system, including batteries, wiring and switches, should be checked to

ensure there is no damage or corrosion.

6. Hydraulic system: Check the quality and oil level of the hydraulic oil, and replace the hydraulic oil if necessary to prevent the viscosity and performance of the hydraulic oil from being reduced due

to high temperatures.

7. Cleaning work: After using the forklift in summer, it should be thoroughly cleaned to remove dust and debris to prevent the risk of spontaneous combustion caused by high temperatures.

8. Cab environment: If possible, install a sunshade or fan/air conditioner to improve the driver's working environment.

9. Daily inspection: Check the engine oil and coolant levels daily to see if they are within the specified range, check whether the chassis and tires are leaking or damaged, and check whether the

brakes and steering are smooth.

10. Regular maintenance: Carry out regular primary and secondary maintenance according to the forklift manufacturer's recommendations, including replacing engine oil, filters, coolant and air

filters, and checking transmission power components, etc.

Follow these summer maintenance recommendations to ensure your diesel forklift operates safely and efficiently in high-temperature environments.
